Yarn Bombing...

Hi there my friends. How are you today?

Since I heard about yarn bombing not long ago, I was fascinated by this amazing creative idea, and from time to time I wonder about yarn bombing things around me, on the street, at work, parks, even at home.

So, I took my summer holiday as an excuse to yarn bomb my suitcases, It was just the perfect opportunity for me to give it a go at yarn bombing something. I confess that it was a great fun doing this very easy, and quick project.

 Have a look at the end result.

New Blanket on the Making...

Hello my friends, hope everything is great with you.

With the leftover yarn from my last completed project I am doing another blanket for my son as promised. I decided to do something similar my last blanket (the Babette), but not quit the same, just in case the same disaster happens again. ( I had lots of trouble to join them strait).

I’m going for the same solid granny squares though, and the same size squares (four rounds plus the join colour), and I hope this time around the blanket will be nice and strait.

Here’s where I am so far, not much, started this week, doing one or two squares in the evening after coming from work. I Think is going quit quickly so far. I will do my best to be ready before the winter arrives here with his full power, fingers cross it will be ready by then.

Yarndale Bounties...

How are you doing my friends from this vast and wonderful blog land?

I have sent my parcel before going on holiday back in July. I’m sure by now it is in her hands; the bounties that I made especially for her.

Babette Blanket

Hello my friends from all around the world hope you all are doing great. Here in London we have been enjoying very good warm days lately, lovely... and I am recovering from thirteen long, long hour’s; flight from Brazil. Where I went with my son on holiday, and had a great time there with family and friends. We are back home already after four great weeks and I am preparing myself to go back to work on Monday and the young man is also preparing to go back to school on Thursday.

Back in February, I started a blanket for my son, a Babette blanky which was very much inspired through this  blog here > Lavoresfl Babette Blanket  from my friend Fatima. Thanks for the inspiration my Dear and for sharing your talent, much appreciated.

I took the blanket with me on holiday to try and finish, and I did, but the project went a bit pear shape at the end. You will see the pictures at the end. The blanket stayed in Brazil with my mum, she loved the blanket so much that my son asked me if he could give his blanky to his granny and of course  I agreed and promised to do another blanket for him. (not a Babette, I don't think I can cope anymore with the join part of this project).

Unfortunately at the end of the project the shape of the blanket went a bit  twisted for the second time that I had tried to straiten up the whole blanket before but this time I didn't want to undo the whole project for the third time, so I went ahead and  finish and left a bit wonky  and we gave it to my sons granny and she was very happy with the present, she loved it.

I had a great pleasure on doing this blanket. Considering that I'm a slow kind of crocheter for me went quit quickly. I used the stylecraft DK yarn, a  very soft yarn  and great to work with, I liked so much that my next project I will use the same yarn. I do have some leftover yarn from this project that I will use to do a new blanket for my son but I may need to buy a few more skins to complete the project. 

The picks below was taking on Gran's home in Brazil last week, we both miss our time there. Below you can see the young man with his granny and one pick of me feeling a bit shay behind the blanket. 

 I have a big bag of bliss already for my next project, will share more soon.

Chelsea Flower Show ...

Hello everyone, Long time no post from me, sorry about that. You may know already the tale of my life, work, work, work and more work. So… when I “disappear” for a bit, it’s probably lack of time to sit down and quietly to do a post. Sorry if this is the heading of all my posts lately, but I feel I have to explain and apologize to my friends and readers that enjoys coming to my blog. Anyhow, I am more then happy to be able to be here today with you, and I hope you will be happy too, to find a new post today after such a long time, with a  “smell of flowers in the air."

Back in May, I had the privilege for the second time to go to the Chelsea Flower Show here in London, UK.  This is a unique event in the Country for all the flower lovers and enthusiastic gardeners. This year’s show was celebrating the 100 years anniversary and promised to celebrate in style, and it was indeed.

Very peaceful looking, Gold Medal Garden

Love this chair, reminds me of Harry Potter movies for some reason.

Lunch time and Opera music the perfect combination, they were fantastic singers these three.

I was thinking to buy one, but it wont fit in my sitting room, i'll have to wait for my garden, one day.

This corner was so beautiful, very French I thought.

The Bonsai, was such a dream, hard to believe that it's possible these trees are hundreds of years old. 

Daffodils heaven, one of my fave, I was there admiring them for quit sometime.

 And the most beautiful cactus I ever seen. 

A Gold Medal for this garden; which is Indian inspired. The smell around here was amazing.

Just a quick hello...

Today I came to say hello to all my friends and readers. Not much happens in terms of crafting lately.  I have been so very busy at work, coming back home every day very late in the evening and at weekends there isn't  enough time for all the house work I have to catch up with, leaving me with no time for my much needed crafty therapy.  To make things even worse, I had a very bad backache last week that prevented me of doing anything really.All good now, thank God.

This weekend I have managed to finish a baby poncho for a special little one.

 I have enjoyed some new magazines as well over the weekend.

 I am slowly working my way through my boy’s bed throw, is coming along very nice indeed, I'm loving doing this project.
